How I Forget

How brilliantly the sun has shown

In my heart

How ecstatic the joy

And peace-filled my mind

How quickly I forget

I maintain some of my practices

But forget to put God

On my list of priorities

And then the world

Crumbles

Once again

I remember

Once again the answer is clear

I dedicated my life

Opened my eyes

And my life

So long ago

I have felt caged

Stiffled

Confined by me

But I am never alone

It’s amazing how the light

Gets through anyway

The answer to a prayer

The opening I was waiting on

I re-member

I Am.
